BIZZARO ESKIMO
Sometimes I believe my stubborn genes take control too easily. Take today for instance. I didn't go to my early morning class. Why? I couldn't. I tried. I couldn't. I woke up. I sat up. I told my brain I was getting up and goig to class. I reset my alarm and got up and hour later. I went to creative writing. I like the class too much not to go. Besides, I had a paper due. We watched a movie, so my brain is still in half alseep mode. Afterwards I thought about going to Math. I still can if I convince myself to. I should. I know I should. But at the same time I can't. Something in my brain is telling me I can't. Not that I'm weak or lazy or irresponsible. I just can't. It's so hard to explain. I bet I sound like all three of those things. But I feel: I feel like when you read your own paper, and you have to step away from it before you can return and realy critique it. I feel like when you are reading and the story gets so intense you have to shut the book and return in an hour or two. I feel like when you really should be doing one thing, but every atom in you is telling you you really have to do something else. Yeah. Do I sound pathetic? I hope not. I hope I sound like someone you can empathize with. I just CAN'T go. My whole body is telling me to go take a nap or something that might be more useful at this point in time. Isn't it bizzar how priorities can change in the twitching of an eye brow sometimes.

the female gene: fanciful dreaming
Wind was a tricky fellow. It was the sixth day of June and he was pulling a fast one on the young woman as she swept down the street. With one hand she clutched her jacket to her body, and with the other she trapped her hair that threatened to escape its pins. First he tugged on her sleeve, pulling her arm with a gentle persistence. Before she could release his grip he would sweep up from behind and knock her glasses off.
Ducking behind a wall of blooming lilacs the girl composed herself. As she stepped out into the sunshine she murmured a few well chosen words under her breath and changed direction with the speed of light. Standing face-to-the-beast she pulled a final string. With one billowing burst of gold her hair sailed into the air. Releasing her jack it slid from her arms to crumple in a heap at her feet.
Wind, for all his antics, had never suspected this reaction from his prey, and was taken entirely by surprise. His viciousness lost its bite. His amusement lost its mockery. The ocean salts tingled freshly in his breath, and for a whole minute he forgot his mischievous desires. Like a great cat, humbled by the his master's whip the wind gentled and became a pleasant breeze.
"That's better." The young lady slid a pair of dark glasses and stooped to pick up her jacket. Good book in hand she found a quite patch of sand and slipped off her shoes. The wind murmured it's pleasure in her ear. The sunshine warmed the beach, and the young woman fell asleep.
The wind sang her a sweet lullaby.
-Yeah, it's corney. yes it's unrealistic. Yes I'm desperately wishing it were summery, warm, and break time. I would give just about anything to be reading a satisfying novel right about now.
C'est tout. Au revoir. Bon soir mes amies.

Bloodless, but not heartless
Yesterday was Scrabble day. I played scrabble alone for about half and hour. And then I played with two other people for half and hour. And then I played with my sister online for about that long. The longest word I got? L-E-V-I-T-A-T-E. Levitate. (ok, so i cheated. I had all the letters but the E and it was on the lip of the bag, so i swapped. N'yeah.
The wind is blowing so hard today it almost took my glasses off once. The weather people say it's going to get down to freezing and it might snow tonight. Rrrrrrr!
I went to give blood today, but they close an half hour before I had signed up. Also I'm still rather congested and I wonder if they would have even let me go through with it. So once again, through events I could not control, I didn't give blood. I have never yet given blood. I want to! I think it's a very good thing to do! I know I kinda owe people after what happened to my mom a few years ago. I don't know exactly how much blood she used, but it was a lot!!!
Ok, tomorrow is the Geo Class field trip. I hope it's fun as well as worth points. I hope it's not cold!!!!

Personal Friends
Yesterday was Wet Day. It rained. I took a shower. I went swimming. I took another shower.
I'm riding a roller coaster. One day I'm happy. The next day I'm really down. One day I'm enjoying life, the next day I want to quit school and get a job doing something I really love. I really feel deprived of fun. I don't go anywhere except grocery shopping. I don't do anything but homework, work, and bum. (I hate bumming!) If I do do something it costs money. Aaaarggghh!
But today is a good day. I'm enjoying today. I think maybe it helps that it's sunny and warm. The last week or two it's been rainy and cold. I'm not exaggerating. It's June and it's acting like April in Missouri. Global Warming? Yeah right! It's more like Global Chilling. If you believe in that hogwash.
I make the best personal friend. I'm becoming an expert at talking to myself. No wait. I already am. I just practice a lot.

Freak of Fire
It's been a few days since I wrote last. Apologizes.
I've been a bit out of it: somewhere, from someone, I've caught the deadly "hack 'til your head falls fills with fluff" and "sneezes 'til you bite your tongue off" and "let you nose and cynisus drain into your brain" disease. To say the least, at least it's not milaria or polio or all those honestly deadly things. Count your blessings people!
I gave my persuasive speech yesterday. For never having practiced it before hand, I think I did farely well. (I'll credit that to being so tired I didn't want to stress, so I sorta didn't care, and relaxed.) I think my partner was a bit worried though. (we did two sides of an issue. we had to share info. There were a few complications with that.) I'm just glad I can relax for the next couple of days while everyone else gives their speeches.
I wish I had another three day weekend coming up soon. While one of my classes is over with, it was only half a semester long, I have to spend all Saturday on a Geology/Natural Disasters field trip. Don't get me wrong, I love field trips. I love where we're going and what we'll be doing. I just really wanted to sleep until nine. The field trip leaves at eight. And we'll be gone ALL day.
Our fifth roommate arrived yesterday. Technically she makes us five, but one of the girls in our apartment practically lives with other friends. No, I take that back. She actually does. She just comes up for things she's forgotten.
Last week was spirit week, and so on Saturday (I believe) there was a huge, fantastic firework display. It was in the direction of the temple and I thought it would be awesome to get a photo of the temple with fireworks bursting above it! Anyway, the display was great, and fun! I can't wait until the 4th of July! (break, fireworks, sunshine, did I say break?) Wow! Then I'll be haveway from 19 to 20! No! I'm not almost 20! That's insane!

Hamster Hughey Dies- sorry Calvin
Left SLC at about 10 yesterday. Got here at about 2. Went to tutoring. Went to the Ward Opening Party (i'm on the activities committee, plus! FREE FOOD!). After the activity there were these guys at the park with nylon ropes hooked up between the trees and they were all tight-rope walking. I tried some too, but had to leave before I could quite master it.
The construction on campus is really getting going. They've been working on it for at least a year or two, but some projects are starting to become recognizable. Such as the new wing on the MC. They're starting to brick up the outside! I can't wait until the sky walk is installed. (I bet they're going to wait until there's a big break though.). And the big hall down by the Hogi Yogi, next to the Hart, they're putting the supporting beams up. It is going to be one HUMONGOUS building! The construction crew is starting to go around campus now, tearing up sidewalks and reporing them. And the landscape/garden-workers/horticulture students are all over the gardens and campus flower beds.
I got to teach another lesson in BoM class today, because two of our 5 study group members were gone, and the other two there with me don't like teaching. They seem to like me talking however. But they're fun. We all get along and they read or commented when I asked them to. Oh well. Do I get double points now that I taught twice? I wish! Well atleast it's nice to know I don't have to prepare another lesson. After all, since we don't have the class on Friday's and it only lasts one block (quarter), Monday is the last day of class. Period. I'm both sad and happy. I love the class, but I look forward to the additional time to get done all my other projects and stuff. Also this class has been intense, and thus sorta stressful. One less thing to worry about now. (And I'm getting a good grade so I'm happy about that too!)
So I got my first math test back. I well above the class average grade, but not super great either. The dumb thing is that I actually do know all the material that was on the test. I honestly could have gotten near 100%. But I'd just taken another test that same day, and was a bit frazzled. So I did really idiotic things like dividing rather than subtracting, or writing 28 with out the 8 on the end. Or writing that I'm flipping the graph up and down, then flip it left to right. Or how about not putting parentheses around a certain section of an equation, so I messed up on my order of operations. Yeah, dumb stuff like that. The teacher makes errors like that when he is teaching us at the board, but he has other eyes to catch it for him. And we KNOW he knows the material. Or atleast the school does. But for the rest of us... phooey kablooey. Achoooooooooooey!

Memorial
Yesterday we took flowers to Gwen(my sister)'s grave. Not mum's like all the other cemetery visitors, but freshly cut irises and tulips and garden flowers. It was raining and Jo and I got soked, but I didn't mind.
We've visited my grandma in the hostpital and she's doing much better. My aunt and cousin are in town to see her too, so last night my cousin came over and we played games (my dad and bro's too were here.) It was nice to let a little stress out.
Ok so i'm heading back up to rexburg now. ttyl.
