Aparently Addison Kirk (one of my friends that's on a mission) was jogging with the YM in his ward and busted up one of his knees, bad! So now he's in a wheel chair, with a ton of huge bolts in his leg. He had to be sent home and might not be able to return to the misson field until around January. Or so his younger sister says. Well, they do say that the closer you are to the spirit, the harder you will be tried and tested. It's still a pain though (literally).

It's ALARMING!
I'm going to try a new tactic. Apparently my body can adapt itself to be able to do things in its sleep, when the thing is a repetitive action. Such as how I used to walk to the bathroom in my sleep. And then, during seminary I used to be able to sit up and tell mom I was awake... without waking up. NOW I'm turning my alaram off in my sleep. I have an 8 am class Tues and Thurs, and I have twice woken up at almost 9 am with my alarm in my hand, turned off. Aaaah! Fortunately it is a class where attendance isn't take. However, the teacher often teaches things not in the text and puts that on the test. So I have to get notes from someone. Rrrrrgh! I'm going to put my alarm on the opposite side of the room from me, and that way I'll have to get up and the the blood pumping. Also if my roommates get made for me not turning it off right away I'll have even more insentive to get out of bed. We'll see how this goes.
Yesterday I was busy ALL day! I got up at 8:30 amd worked on a drawing and a paper. Then I had class from 10:15 to 12:15. I ran home, finished my drawing, and went to my class at 2:00. I got out of class at about 5:00, came home and ate my first meal of the day, and then headed to the library to print off my test for LT. I then went to FHE. After FHE I went to Music Outlet. After Music Outlet I came home and did my test. After journaling and scripture study I got to bed at about 12:30 am. EARLY! (well, compared to last week)
I finally got my new debit card AND pin #, so this afternoon I'm heading out to find a place that will cut lenses for my new glasses. Over the past several weeks ChloƩ has assured me that I do INDEED need them! My only problem is that I have to activate the card with an ATM machine. I thought I new where one was on campus, but it didn't like my card. So now I have to find a DIFFERENT one, off campus somewhere. By the grocery store maybe?
Well, it's not going to work for me to go to SLC this weekend. Phooey! But atleast I got a ticket to the Halloween Concert!!!! I'm so excited! They sold out so quickly I barely managed to get one! I'm going to the last showing the last night (Halloween Night to be exact). I'm actually glad I'm going to that showing, because it's the FINALE, oui? It should be good! The theme is Pirates of the Caribbean this year.
Well, I gtg to work.

Tagg-Ed!
According to Jo, I've been tagged. "If you are reading this, then consider yourself tagged. As I was tagged two times over, I'm going to combine them into one tag. My tag challenge to you is to do both of these."
First tag is to post the 4th photo in your 4th folder.
This is a picture I scanned. It's of my dad when he was a teenager, sitting on his fron porch with his little sister, Aunt Patrice.
The second tag is nearly the same, 5th pic in the 5th folder on your computer (flash drive in my case):
This is a picture of my little Bro., Sam, when we went hiking last winter.

Snow men in the snow men in the snow...
I read fast! I've a book in 5 hours the other day! I need to go get a library card for the public library here so that I can actually have a decent selection. (BYUI carries mostly Romances in their fiction sections.)
I understand what makes a starving artist a starving artist. We forget about food. We buy art materials rather than edibles. Every Monday/Wednesday I eat Dinner/Lunch/Breakfast at 5 pm. Oh well. We drink in the beauty around us for compensation.
Midterms are almost here! Man! This semester is going fast! (But not fast enough!)
Take pots and pans and cups and make a tower! See how high you can stack it! It's almost as fun as dominos!
Speaking of dominos, I need to play a good game of dominos or cards. Love cards!

Harkle
So, while I'm complaining about the chilly weather, I keep humming Christmas carols. I have my Pandora play list set on the Silver Bells and Fiddle Fever radio stations. "Hark silver bells, sing silver bells..."
So when I write, like stories and poetry and stuff, some times it's a struggle. Not generally, but some days the right words and the right rythms come so reluctantly to my fingertips. But then, fantastically, on other days they seem to be there, just waiting to leap onto the page. These last couple of days have been like that. I was going through my flash drive, deleting unneccessary files, when I came across an unfinished piece of work. Sitting down I read through it and discovered that I really liked it! Ideas started popping into my head, and before I realized it I had been typing for a round hour and a half. All day today my fingers have been iching to get back, and it's been a bit of a distraction. So that's where I'm going next. I'll have to post it here sometime and get people's responses. And in case anyone is wondering, I haven't really sat down and planned this all out, which suprises even myself. It just sort is coming to me. Love it!
I also love fiddle music! HARK SILVER BELLS, SING SILVER BELLS, FROM EVERYWHERE, FILLING THE AIR...

Hick hick cough cough squeak screeeeeeeeeeeech----!
Last night the soar throat that I'd had for the last several days finally reached a pang painful enough for me to take notice. I found my mouth dry, my throat raw and prickling, and my glands subtley swollen. Aparently I snored last night-that is when I was asleep. I kept waking up, and I wonder if it was because I couldn't breath. Finally at about 8 am I gave up half sleeping and crawled out of bed, took a book and blanket into the livingroom, and read for an hour. I sat down and finished my drawing for Art 110, which remarkably turned out quite well, showered, at a pot of steaming romen, and trouped off to class. My illness has been affecting my in waxing and waning rotations-at times convincing that I really am not that sick, and at other times making me think "I forgot how miserable and achy all over and horrible being sick is!" Right now, for instance, I feel ralitvely fine. We'll wait for tomorrow to see which way I go -- plumitting like a stone to the bottom of the sufficating pool of "ick", or floating out of danger like a loose feather in a quick updraft of "aren't you a lucky ducky".
I've been reading a book these last couple of days and I really like it! It's called "The Looking Glass Wars", by Frank Beddor. It's Alice in Wonderland as "it really was". :) Very fun and fascinating and well written! READ IT!
"You know the myth...
A little girl named Alice tumbled down a rabbit hole and proceeded to have a charming adventure in the delightful, made-up world of Wonderland...
Now discover the truth... Wonderland Exists!
Alyss Heart, heir to the Wonderland throne, was forced to flee through the Pool of Tears after a bloody palace coup staged by the murderous Redd. Lost and alone in Victorian London, Alyss is befriended by an aspiring author to whom she tells the violent, heartbreaking story of her young life only to see it published as the nonsensical Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Alyss had trusted Lewis Carroll to tell the truth so that someone, somewhere would find her and bring her home. But Carroll had gotten it all wrong. He even misspelled her name! If not for royal bodyguard Hatter Madigan's nonstop search to locate the lost princess, Alyss may have become just another society woman sipping tea in a too-tight corset instead of returning to Wonderland to fight Redd for her rightful place as the Queen of Hearts.
Meet the heroic, passionate, monstrous, vengeful denizens of this parallel world as they battle each other with AD-52's and orb generators, navigate the Crystal Continuum, bet on jabberwock fights and travel across the Chessboard Desert.
The Looking Glass Wars unabashedly challenges our Wonderland assumptions of mad tea parties, sleepy dormice, and a curious little blonde girl to reveal an epic battle in the endless war for Imagination. "

So I'm going down to SLC this weekend for general conference, and to get my eyes checked. Over the last several weeks I have noticed more and more how insufficient my glasses' perscription is. I can hardly read the black boards, and criticing in drawing class has become a real headache. Literally. Sigh... the mortal state of the human eyes in this modern age of books, technology, and mounting academic sacrifices! Cheers!
P.S. For some reason I'm really craving Icecream right now! Icecream and shrimp! (not together, but both.)
