The wonderous and engenius methods of Kat de Sul
Right . . .
So, Thanksgiving was wonderful. Family. Food. And fun. The three fantastic F's! We had mashed potatoes, turkey, olives, shrimp a New Orleans, green beans (good, hand picked and frozen), homemade Italian creme sodas, stuffing, pumpkin pie, lemon creamcheese pie, blueberries and creme pie, whipped CREAM and whipped topping, and... other stuff. :) We played captions and had a laugh. We talked, digested, watched movies, baked, talked some more, and looked at photos. And we basked in the glorious Christmas deco (lights, snowflakes, more lights, a small tree, and random ornaments around the room that Jo and I had put up earlier the day before).
THEN... it came to pass that we got up at 3 am. YAWWWWWNNN! We went shopping for Black Friday and then we had breakfast at IHOP. With like 20 of my extended family members + Chloe. Then, still morning, 8/10 am we went over to me gran's. I sewed while everyone else slept. I sewed ALL day!!! (handstitching, embroidery) Then at about 6 pm I got up and made tortillas for dinner. I must say, homemade tortillas are the BOMB! (p.s. you have to double the water here in the west or else the dough dries out while it sets before rolling. Yick. (I learned this earlier this fall, so this time they turned out fantastico!) Am made a fillin (chicken and peppers and spices and... whatnot... and it was DELICIOUS!!! I put ranch dressing and cheese on it and it was probably the most delicious meal I've had in ever-so-long! Mmmmmmm! Soooo good!) We came back to Jo's, I sewed 'til 11 pm and then, finally at about 11:30 I broke down and had to go pass out. After all, I'd only had two hours of sleep in the passed 24 hours!
The next day I sewed and sewed and sewed like a mad man. Finally at about 5 pm Chloe and I got back into the car and drove back to Rexburg. (Just before we left we got a phone call, my grandma, the one I'd seen the day before, had broken her hip and was in the hostpital. :( :( :( :P )
Now it's been over a week since I've returned. Schools gone ok. I have turned in several of my projects already. Now I only have to finish my Art final drawing, take my Western Culture final quiz and Final, turn in my last paper for New Testament, do a presentation and then and 8 page take-home final for English. That's not too much, right? Well, TOMORROW night I have white glove check too! And my dad's coming up to see my sister graduate on the 12th, and then he and I are driving back down to SLC on the 13th. Not much time to ho hum hiddle diddle, eh?
Ok. Now HERE's the part that displays my acute sense of intelligence and genius. I keep realizing that I've left things at my sister's apt. in Utah. First thing I noticed was I could find my camera charge cord. My camera has and LED battery, so no replacements. Next I THOUGHT I had lost a sock, but I found it when I did the wash. Then, when I realized my phone battery was dying, I realized I couldn't locate the charge cord for it either! And last (so far), I left one of my textbooks there!!!! I'm going to have to borrow someone's or use the internet or find a copy in the library to study!!!! What a gaphooey!
Yep, that's me! Engenius Kat the first!
p.s. I LOVE the movies Miss Potter and Oscar!
