Be nice to me, I gave blood today.
It's the end of another long week. After spending the weekend in Salt Lake with family (both the dead and the living - aka memorial day weekend, and cemetery visiting) I drove back up to Rexburg Tuesday.
I've been catching up and everything since. Sleep. A bit of homework. Events that went on while I was gone. (my roommates pranked our FHE brothers and are trying to start a war. A fun war, they hope...)
I've taken three tests and am working on my midterm paper for Church History. After the grulling four hour drive in blaring sunshine from SLC to Rexburg I've been a bit scatterbrained. I can't concentrate deeply on anything. Phooey.
This morning a roommate and her friend and I drove down to Idaho Falls and gave blood. (I think the nurse had the blood pressure sinch too tight though, because when she took it off all the blood rushed to my finger and my hand ached like crazy for a short while.) I love giving blood. It's not the funnest process, but not too bad either, and it does so much good for others. After what happened to my mom when I was little, I owe a great debt to all the people that have given blood, and I kinda hope this will help to pay them back a little bit.
This afternoon a friend from our ward is giving a "C" party (because mormons don't drink Tea) and I may or may not go. Depends on my paper. She's going to have chocolate chip cookies and other fun stuff that starts with a "C". We're all suppose to dress up and be fancy and what not. Silly, but fun, huh?
Then this evening I'm going to the William Joseph piano concert with ChloƩ. I'm so thrilled about it! I love his music and I get to watch him play in person! Whoo-hoo! YES!
So I'm feeling very relaxed right now. Maybe it's the weekness from giving blood. Maybe it's that it's Saturday. Maybe it's just me. But anyway I heard this song today and it is absolutely beautiful, so is the video. So I thought I'd just share. Enjoy:

Needs a better title...
Don't know exactly why I'm blogging now. I've no good reason to be on here, nor more a good reason than any other random day. Ok. I think this impulse qualifies.
Don't worry about it.
Memorial day weekend is up, I head back up North to Idaho in a mere short hours, I get on with school (and school work), and I never visit my sister's home in Utah ever again. It won't be here after Friday.
I'm still working on how to spend the 4th of July.
I've been outside, reveling in the late May sunshine and not-too-hot-but-succulent air. After climbing Ensign Peak with my brother and sister-in-law I have the raw beginnings of a farmer's tan. In fact, around my neck I have a very bright red burn line, so sharp in contrast to white skin next to it it almost looks like it was painted on.
I remember the year we had a friend who had a black swimming suit with large white dots all over it. We played outside in the sprinkler for a couple of hours, and when we came in... well let's just say she tanned everywhere there was black fabric (black absorbs light) and didn't where it was white (because white doesn't). So she had large white spots all over. Quite amusing to say the least.
I hate driving for hours on end. No one to talk to. Nothing to keep my mind from wandering to complicated an in the end frustrating philosophical and pointless avenues. Why? What if? How about...?
If anyone has been involved with me in one of those, you've noticed that they almost always end with me talking myself around in a circle, unsatisfied and unresolved.
Well... I take that back. All my ramblings are useful and make me think. I never look at things the same way twice.
And now I urgently need to get ready to leave on acount that I just typed and then deleted a huge long rant about one of my philosophical ramblings and have wasted half an hour of my packing time, not to mention nature calls.
No. I'm not in a bad mood. Just scatterbrained.
Cheers.

Amest I bothered?!?!?!
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red:
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound.
I grant I never saw a goddess go:
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

Being UP
Ha ha ha ha... laughs on me. And since I'm UP I mine-as-well WRITE about it. Now please, don't judge me too harshly... I think I'm about to get some answers shortly.
Arlight. Well let's start with me telling my roommate that if she wants to throw something at me to get me up and going for class, she's more than welcome to. Let's just say that every since then I've been all paranoid of not getting up on time. Take this morning for example. When I heard my alarm go off I took one glance at the clock and nearly fell out of bed. I had less than 15 min to both get ready for school and get to class. I'm glad I already had my outfit in mind the day before, so I was able to run to the bathroom and throw it on. I took one glance in the mirror and my stomach dropped, because it was quite evident that there was NOTHING I could do to tame my hair well in under ten minutes this morning. Sighing, I brushed through it and tied the wildest part back with a few bobby pins, and didn't look at my reflection again. I didn't even glance at the fridge as I scooted through the kitchen. One of my roommates was sitting on the coach, still in pj's and was startled to see me in such a fluster. After asking me if I was going already and I my hasty affirmative reply she sleepily waved goodbye and I was out the door. I didn't run the building, it really was quite close, but I didn't exactly walk with leisure either. I made it to the building with a few minutes to spare, but I remember thinking all the way across the campus why it looked like the sun was barely rising, and why there weren't more people around. I got to my classroom, went in, and saw it already full of people. So whether or not the clock said it I was late. While there was still a few students streaming in through the back door, everyone in the front of the room zeroed in on me. I tried to wordlessly make my way to the back of the class (not so easy as it's a big lecture hall) when I suddenly found myself face to face with was what was obviously a professor. Not MY professor however. My confusion only lasted for a minute though, for my teacher had warned up that she might have to be gone some mornings. This had to be a sub. The I realized that she was handing out bubble test sheets. Wha?! I didn't recall us having anything to be tested over yet. Seeing me she rushed forward, all efficiency, and said, "Here. Let me get you a packet." With dawning awareness I asked, mild panic in my voice, if this was indeed photography. "No, this is comm. 101." Nope. NOT my class. Realizing I was in the wrong place she calming continued handing out papers while I made a hasty, if not slightly obvious exit. Out in the hall I paced, pondering over how I could have made such a dumb mistake. I swear the clock had said what time it did, I swear I was in the right building, and I even whipped out my schedule to verify the day and class room. Everything seemed in order. Finally I trudged home. The only conclusion I could make was that I must either be in a weird dream or I must have read the clock wrong. As I stepped inside my apt. my eyes immediately flew to the clock. Sure enough, it was a whole hour earlier than I'd believed. Feeling foolish, but more annoyed really, I went back to my room. And that's when I noticed that MY clock, my PERSONAL clock, did in fact show a later hour. Wha?! How did that happen? Changing it back I muttered over how frustrating technology was, the whole while silently congratulating myself on not being a complete idiot. I must have seen the time on MY clock and automatically assumed that was what the others would say, and so that was how I saw them. So now, I'm up a whole hour early. I'm tired, I would love to go to bed, but I'm afraid that if I went to be now, I'd wake up and find I only have ten minutes to make it to class.
